It may surprise you to learn that there is no requirement for estate and lettings agents to be qualified. This is something that we find completely unacceptable and as such have taken it upon ourselves to ensure that all our staff are qualified, or currently qualifying, in their specific fields. We are proud that as we have taken these steps to qualify our staff this enables us to be licenced members of both the National Association of Estate Agents (NAEA) and the Association of Residential Lettings Agents (ARLA). The other qualifying criteria for licenced firms, which we meet, are as follows:

We are covered by a Client Money Protection scheme

Should we misappropriate your rent, deposit or other client funds, then the National Federation of Property Professionals (NFoPP) will consider a claim to compensate you. This operates in the same way as the ABTA Bond for your holiday. The Client Money Protection Scheme will compensate a landlord or tenant up to a limit of £25,000. However, landlords are limited to a maximum of 3 months rent. The total maximum payable in respect of a member company would be £500,000. In any one year the scheme has a limit of £3million..

We have Professional Indemnity Insurance

This ensures you are covered financially should you have a successful claim relating to our negligence, bad advice or mishandling of data..

We have a code of practice and rules of conduct

As a licenced member of the NAEA and ARLA we voluntarily follow Code of Practice and Rules of Conduct laid down by both the NAEA and ARLA. If we do not follow the code, we can be fined or even expelled from membership. The disciplinary process includes everything from cautions and warnings right through to more severe penalties of up to £5,000 for each rule breached..

You have a route to redress should something go wrong

As a licenced member we are required by the NAEA and ARLA to belong to an Ombudsman Scheme. We are member of the Property Ombudsman. This gives you an added level of protection and the Property Ombudsman can award compensation up to £25,000..

By dealing with a licenced member of the NAEA and ARLA, like us, you can be sure that you are dealing with a qualified, professional and experienced agent.
