Ian Potter

Ian PotterNegotiator & Mortgage Advisor

Ian started working for Matthew Anthony in June 2016 as a part time Negotiator whilst studying and bringing his mortgage qualifications up to date, which he did in December that year.

Ian started his mortgage and negotiating career in 1984, working for the Co‐Operative Bank as a Financial Adviser before moving to a local estate agent in Yeovil, Somerset where he conducted Mortgage & Financial Services through Legal & General Insurance. It was during this very buoyant period of the housing market that Ian learnt his negotiation skills. Following the housing crash at the end of the 80’s Ian had a change of career and worked in the public sector before retiring in 2017 and joining Matthew Anthony.

Now a full time member of staff, Ian’s primary role is to provide independent mortgage advice to a range of clients, from first time buyers to experienced buy‐to‐let investors.

Ian lives locally and is married with two young children. During his down time Ian likes to keep fit and is a member of a local gym.
